NEW YEAR'S
New Year's is the first day on a calendar. In Bangkok, the people celebrate a festival called Songkran instead of New Year's.
Songkran usually lasts a couple days. The celebration starts at the Wat Pho, which is one of the most important temples in Bangkok. Many other celebrations are held on and around the Khao San Road, which is one of the most popular areas in the world with backpackers.
During Songkran, there are events such as water throwing, the ritual bathing of Buddha images, processions and performances. Through out the festival an array of traditional foods can be enjoyed
People in Canada and many other places celebrate New Year's on January 1st. The people of Bangkok celebrate their New Year's on the last day of Songkran; April 15th.
